Designed for cutting tile from slabs of plastic clay, our copper tile cutters are constructed using 16 oz. copper sheet metal, allowing less displacement of the clay and less overall pressure while cutting. The copper shape is attached with screws and brass finish washers to a plywood form which holds the cutter rigid. Through the center of this piece of plywood is a 1" hole which allows the plunger handle to protrude. The plunger is a thin piece of MDO plywood with a unique non-stick neoprene surface. The plunger serves to hold the tile flat while the cutter is removed.
The maximum tile thickness to be cut is about 3/4". The total depth of the cutter is 2", giving plenty to hold on to while cutting and removing the tile from the slab.
They are priced at $32.00 plus $.50/perimeter inch. (ie. 6x6 cutter = $44.00) S&H extra. Standard sizes are 4.5" square and 6.75" square (high fire shrinkage allowance for 4" & 6") Custom sizes may be ordered from 2.5" up. (order)
